By adopting DWDM technology, a single optical fiber can carry higher bandwidth capacity. This not only resolves the current problem of insufficient bandwidth and fibers, it will also meet the requirement of the long-term development in the future. DWDM technology for metropolitan broadband network can solve the problem of insufficient bandwidth and fibers while providing higher quality of service delivery. In order to save valuable fiber resources, and to meet the bandwidth requirement, the high-end DWDM equipment with 100G capacity would be deployed in the sadar upazilla nodes. One 100G channel would be needed from every sadar upazilla node to the core node with OlP protection. All of the 100G channel would be dropped in the core node of NTTN, and NTTN shall carry out necessary expansion of the core nodes to integrate the expanded DWDM network. The medium DWDM devices with 10G technology would be deployed in the upazilla nodes. One 10G channel would be needed from every upazilla node to the sadar upazilla node with 1+1 protection.
